Nothing to do, so here I am.
The goal is to make a Money Making/Forger Fox, as effective as possible, and as quickly as possible. So this Fox should be able to dig, and to compound.

Expect to shell out 15k+ to restock to 85% WT each repot. |
Note: This does not take second job into heavy account.
Note: Due to the high start up cost of this type of character, do NOT make this as a first one if you're barely starting Trickster. However, if you really want to make a forger fox as a first character, you can get a mix of damage and compounding ability if you go hybrid. Read on for more.
Is this exact same build guide somewhere else? Probably. But boredom makes us do weird things.
Build is
1144,
all points into
LK.
Skills
Stone Strike Lv10----------[Required for Armour Breaker]
Basic Detection Master-----[With this skill it seems like 100% chance of finding items
---------------------------when digging, so I'm guessing it'll be perfectly fine for a LK Fox]
Armour Breaker Lv1---------[Required for Lucky Seven]
Lucky Seven Master--------[For compounding, duh.]
Compound Master Master---[Need I say it?]
All this uses up 54 points by TMlv 70, with 16 points left. I'm guessing you should invest these points into Heavy Carrier Lv10/Master for Fear Bag if you're worried about being a weakling in your second job. Or you can get Lv10/Master Sixth Sense if you want to train up to TMlv70 faster. But then again having half the DA of a normal fox means your Sixth Sense is also half as effective. Or you can save these points to put into Lucky Day for more compounding madness.
How does one train a pure LK Fox without Sixth Sense (or with, if you decide to use that)? Patience. If a normal Fox with Sixth Sense does 2000 damage, you'd do about 600 damage (1000 if you have Sixth Sense). Are these numbers correct? Probably not, but they're ball-park range.
The main obstacle is getting to TMlv35. Once you get to TMlv35, I suggest you drill for most of your levels (100% drilling is sexy for leveling TM ;D) or do various exp quests. To get to TMlv35 get to Level 25 first, get a 2.5 party, do 3 Popo TM quests, then do 5 Pyupyu TM quests, then do the last 2 Popo quests. Why 25? Why in this order? Because level 25 is the strongest you can be and still do all the quests without going over the level 30 limit. [On a side note, you get a new DA level (42 damage with Lv10 SS) and 30 more MP every 1+4x levels and 1 +4(6) = 25.] You should reach level 31 in the middle of your last Popo quest, which is perfect. From there do the Silver G TM quest (another nice timing, you reach level 33 during the middle of the last quest, Silver G's are level 32, and we all know to get optimal exp if your level shouldn't surpass the monster you're training on). Train until level 37 (37 because you get a new DA level at 37) and do the Wasp quest. You will get poor exp since your level is now higher than the Wasp, but you can kill them much easier at level 37, you can use the time you save training on more efficient monsters. Finish that quest 5 times and you should be around TMlv35~37. If for some reason you're not, wait until level 41 and do Mantis TM quest. If you need more TMexp, try the Poppuri Dungeon quests.
URGENT: DO THE SIZZLING COOLEM QUEST BEFORE THE EVENT IS OVER! 55k TMexp for killing 10 monsters? I have one response to that, and here it is: zomgwtfbbqwaffles?!
(On a side note level 61~90 people get a 600kTMexp quest, my dragon went from TMlv42 to TMlv49 doing it 10 times)
Once you get to TMlv35, master Basic Detection right away. You can even stop here if you only want to make this fox for money. Just start selling those Premium Pockets, Jenny Dolls, Craft Berets, etc. you're bound to dig up and you'll be rich in no time. (I dug for 40 minutes at Path to Phantom School and I got one Premium Pocket and 7 Jenny Dolls, 900k in 40 minutes, not bad ;D)
Here's a build for a Fear Bag Fox:
TMlv01-01|Stone Strike Lv1------------------1point
TMlv02-02|Invicible Drilling-------------------1point [OPTIONAL]
TMlv03-11|Stone Strike Lv10-----------------9points
TMlv12-18|Heavy Carrier Lv7----------------7points
TMlv35-35|Basic Detection Master-----------13points
TMlv40-40|Armour Breaker Lv1--------------2points
TMlv50-50|Lucky Seven Master--------------16points
TMlv51-55|Heavy Carrier Master-------------5points
TMlv70-70|Compound Master Master---------13points
Total Points: 70. Points Used: 67. Remaining Points: 3
Or you can sacrifice some of your digging ability to hold more weight earlier if you don't plan on digging in really deep soils. At such a low level, how are you even going to survive on those maps with 110m soil anyways? Mix and match your own levels of Heavy Carrier and Basic Detection, as long as the total TMpoints used for Heavy Carrier and Basic Detection are 20 put together by TMlv35.
The path I'm following is:
TMlv01-01|Stone Strike Lv1------------------1point
TMlv02-02|Invicible Drilling-------------------1point
TMlv03-11|Stone Strike Lv10-----------------9points
TMlv12-20|Heavy Carrier Lv9----------------9points
TMlv35-35|Basic Detection Lv10-------------11points
TMlv40-40|Armour Breaker Lv1--------------2points
TMlv50-50|Lucky Seven Master--------------16points
TMlv51-53|Heavy Carrier Master-------------3points
TMlv54-55|Basic Detection Master------------2points
TMlv70-70|Compound Master Master---------13points
Total Points: 70. Points Used: 67. Remaining Points: 3
Invicible Drilling is optional, however, personally I don't like it when I get "An Item is here!" and something attacks me... and misses or hits 0, and still interupts my drilling.
By the way, here's a picture of Basic Detection in action:
I cry when I use my Fox now. I spent 3 hours digging on my Dragon to get 10 wines to get a ruby ring. I got 4 wines from digging for about 2 minutes in the picture above.
Curious fact about Basic Detection. If you can communicate what you see to other people, they can dig up the item too, with 100% chance. Does this mean Basic Detection makes an area of ground easier to dig? Or does this mean that DA has no effect on digging at all and only whether an item is there or not?
The only annoying thing about basic Detection is if I was to dig straight down from where I am in the picture, I wouldn't get the item. Why? Because I'm not standing directly on top of the circle. Also, a good memory helps as well, unless you want to use the skill for every dig you do. The skill duration is 3 seconds at master level. I find that it helps if I find a giant blob of items, start at one corner and remember 1 up, 1 right, 1 up, 4 left, 4 down, 4 right, 1 up, 2 left (for the picture above).

You can even better damage/survivability if you don't mind walking a little. Just get max WT equips, load up on potions to 100%, and then switch your WT equips to HP,DP,LK,DA,etc equips after you do that (you'll be over 100% WT). Of course it's a given that you'll be using LK equips while compounding.
BUT, if you really only want to make one Fox, I suggest you make a combination of DA and LK (5DA points per 3 LK points maybe?). Putting 3 points LK per 5 DA, you'd be getting 11LK per 32 levels compared to a DA fox who puts all DA who gets 1LK per 4 levels while getting 13DA per 32 levels compared to a fox who puts all DA who gets 1 DA per 2 levels. This would mean would mean at level 65, you'd have the compounding ability of a level 89, while having the strength of a 47 (compound like someone that's 24 levels higher than you, while doing the damage of someone 18 levels below you). Of course, you do know the smart thing to do in this build would be to go all DA for 46 levels and then go all LK after you get there. :P
Of course, a pure LK build would mean at level 65 you compound like a level 129 while doing the damage of a 33. BUT, since you can go all DA for the early levels, you can make a combination melee/forger fox for a first account.
This was all calculated (probably wrongly) not taking Lucky Seven and Sixth Sense into account. Since these skills are based on percentages, the stats grow exponentially as you get higher. Meh, too lazy to calculate that. BUT, keep in mind that a Fox only has an advantage over Lions in compounding because they get Lucky Day, which is a stackable party LK buff. SO, if you have a good Fox buddy who has Lucky Day, I heavily suggest you make an LK Lion instead. Why? Lions have a skill that feeds off LK for damage in second job. So you can just make a party with your Fox buddy when you compound. You'll be able to train alone, but rely on someone when compounding (not like you won't get excellent results by yourself anyways). So basically, with a Fox or a Lion alone, a Fox would be better at compounding, but the Lion better at damage, while if a Fox and a Lion work together, they'll have the same compounding ability, and the Lion does even more damage. |
Comment and criticize all you want. Afterall, I kinda typed this to see what other people think of this. I may add more or tiddy things up a little more later. Or maybe not.
Eh, I couldn't help myself and got Basic Detection to Master level, guess I can wait until TMlv52 to master Lucky Seven... >_<;; Here's what's spamming two Basic Detections at Master lv does. >
