Post Typhoon (Mana Storm) Dragon Build

Here's a basic typhoon 1st class build:
Magic Typhoon build: 4int/4sta or 4int/3sta/2luck

To continue your build:


For second job, you should go for dark (because of the natural aoe-affinity).

From here you could go with two builds/strategies:

Freeze-Hellfire-MT-hard gravity or Freeze-Hellfire-MT-(MA)-shadow lance

For the first (F-H-MT-HG), it's pretty self explanatory. There are good skills to be aqcuired and you will use them all (meaning no skills that will probably go unused because you have them as prerequisites). The only downside, you will not finish this by TM 120, which is when you can learn hard gravity. Thus it will take a long time to build. It is VERY powerful and effective, however.

For the F-H-MT-(MA)-SL build you will need to go back and learn magic arrow to level 10 and use that to get shadow lance. The reason for this build is that shadow lance as a small aoe range spell complements the other MT skills very nicely making for one of the most versatile mages possible. This is another very powerful build. Note that you will be able to finish by TM 120, but won't have enough time to get hard gravity, so instead save your points for third job.

Is typhoon the skill that has three circle things that come out of your character and locks onto a monster? o_O

And I saved a part of the MT Dark Dragon build but I forget who made it..credits go to them though.

Magic Typhoon (MT) builds

The easiest MT build would have to be the 1423 MT-shadow lance-hard gravity/hellfire dark dragon build.Create a dragon (sheeps work fine as well, if you substitute lightning and fire spells in for hard gravity/hellfire and shadow lance) with stats 1 str, 4 mag, 2 per, and 3 chrm. The first days of play will be the toughest, but you'll just have to stick it out. You're going to be spending this time drilling, and since you have only 2 perception you're going to need to optimize your gear for perception. (LUK, mainly) Continue this until you get to TM lvl 35.

At TM lvl 35, learn MT and master it. With your spare points, learn invincible casting and then heal. Try to master both. Now you're ready to kick ass!

In the field, focus on training your level, and stop to dig when you need to recover. If you're ever in a tight spot, cast heal and run away. You will be virtually unstoppable through the intermediate levels until 45-50+, when things will get a little harder. Stick it out these last 10 or 15 levels and you'll be able to get your second job.

For your second job, you're going to have to choose between a freeze-hellfire-shadow lance-MT build, and a freeze-shadow lance-hard gravity build.

Advantages of the F-H-SL-MT build:

-More useful skills to play around with.
-Magic for any situation.
-A very worthy opponent if you master the combos.
-You can get into using and completing this build almost immediately after the first job advancement.
-You will be powerful.
-You are king of mage pvp.

Drawbacks:

-You will need to go back and get MA to level 10 to learn hellfire.
-You won't have time or skill points to get hard gravity by the time you are at the level where you can get your third job.
-You EAT mp pots.
-Hard to use.

Strategies:

Attack enemies from afar and get in the first blow with Shadow Lance. As they run up to you, cast freeze and spam hellfire.

If you become surrounded, use typhoon and spam hellfire.


Sadly I didn't save the HG path. I'm thinking of doing F-H-HG too.

Got a question...
How about the stats build?
What's the best path to follow?
I heard some rumors saying put it all up to MA(til char. lvl 50) then next is to MP(char. lvl 51-60) and back to MA again... And what would be the beginning stats of it anyway?

Keep adding to MA, and stay in phantom till you're ready to handle level 100 mobs.

bhrameikren: More MP isn't really needed when you have close to 4k MP later on. C Blue pots aren't that expensive, so continue with a pure MA.

? ok im lvl 3 now. i put all 12 points into MA (magic attack). i want to do the MT(mana typhon) build that u have. plz give more info. what do you mean stay in phatom? lvl 100 mobs means what? i left tutorial at lvl 3. not sure what lvl my tm is. sorry for the questions...

In the beginning I did the tutorial, left there at level 4, and was transported to the Desert Beach. I stayed there moving to a different map every 10 levels untill I reach the map with the sand demons and cannon shells. Around 30 I went to aquarius and started leveling, moving maps about every 5 levels untill I reached 40. From there move to the path of phantom till 60+. From there on the best spot is Seabed 5, which is accessed from Abyss 4.

Just do a search on "abyss" to find the items needed and the directions to get there.


bhrameikren: I use 1423, as it provides a good defense as well as accuracy. 1414 is a support build, best for light demon builds that want to play support (rare).
